The Barn
In 1972, 70-year-old Ben Vanderhook tore down old barns in Mahaska County and surrounding counties to create our beautiful barn, located a stone’s throw south of Oskaloosa, Iowa. The 3½ acre property includes a 147×46×60 Quonset hut barn, open fields as well as mature shade trees.
Debbie’s Celebration Barn is one of the most extraordinary and romantic settings for a Midwest wedding or special event.
The event space in the barn is spacious with many options for originality to fit your occasion. Both east and west ends of The Barn feature large double French doors which add to the charm as well as aid in cross ventilation on warmer summer evenings.
Though most barns tend to be rather dark because of a lack of windows, with the aid of the included rope lighting, additional string or chandelier lighting will set the mood for your special evening.
Our sloping lawn, and the adjacent fields, are the ideal setting for your Midwest wedding ceremony, with the backdrop of the picturesque Iowa countryside. Have your hors d’oeuvres outside, simply enjoy strolling the grounds with your guests, or s’mores by the bonfire.
The barn itself can be set up for sit-down dinners, buffets, or stations. With double French doors at each end open to a blissful evening, it’s the perfect place to conclude your celebration with dancing and a band.
Events can be scheduled for any weekend or week day throughout the year.
